picture perfect

I've been harping to my brides that one of the most important details of the wedding is organizing a picture list of who you want in each picture, details you def want pictured, and places you want to be photographed! You can always develop this with your photographer, but it's always nice to make sure your couple's personality {and all of those amazing details you designed} come across on film!

Besides the traditional family photos that you definitely need, I wanted to share some amazing photos and details that I simply adore :)
Great first look idea! Much more anticipation!
Or if your not interested in a first look...DEF do this :)
Such a cute touch to add a little something
 Great untraditional bridal party shot
 Loving sparklers
Photobooth strip with rings! Super cute!

So get to listing! Type out all of those important people and details and make sure their photos get snapped! You can never go back and re-do your big day!

{sorry I don't have the names of these photographers- I've been collecting these pictures for years and don't know their sources!}

sparkles.

Just incase you didn't get enough sparkle from all of the fireworks yesterday for the Fourth of July, I wanted to show you some classy and fabulous ways to add sparkle to your wedding- something that I think any wedding can use a touch of! No need to overwhelm your guests with rhinestones in every nook and cranny to add the extra pizazz! Just one of these details could add that wow factor and give you that gorgeous candlelight reflection on the walls and in your photographs!

A headband is such an easy way to transition from the romance of your ceremony veil to get ready to party for the wedding reception! I'm a huge fan of the quick addition to change your look in just seconds so you can head straight in to see your guests!
And who wouldn't love this full rhinestone dress for any wedding party, rehearsal dinner, or even reception dress?! There is no better time to wear rhinestones than your wedding!

I'm also loving the rhinestone monogram cake topper! Even if you're not into rhinestones, a mono topper in any other style is still a great way to personalize your wedding cake!

This brooch bouquet by Bella Blooms makes an amazing statement of vintage elegance! Daring, I know, but it could always be an option for your church rehearsal, reception, or throw bouquet! Why not wear pieces of your grandmothers on your special day?

I am OBSESSED with these J.Crew flats to change into for the reception! So gorgeous and they make a much bigger statement than flip flops :)

So who's adding a little bling to their big day?

sweet tooth

So I want to hear your thoughts on this whole candy bar thing! I have only been featuring things I love on the blog, but I'm having such mixed emotions on this one so I need your opinion! I'm torn because there are so many great perks of have a candy bar, and one MAJOR reason I couldn't!

On one hand, I'm a huge fan of tradition...and the ways to modernize that tradition! But these days, there are so many unique and creative ways to bring the traditional wedding cake into the 21st century to have to replace it with candy! I love the cake cutting pictures and the passing of that delicious cake- hmmm- I love me some wedding cake!

However, I'm kinda loving the candy bar for the right wedding- because lets face it, cakes are pretty expensive! These piles of sugar are so quirky and fun for the right couple and theme! If you've got a smaller guest list and want to avoid the tiny cake, the jars of various candies definitely fill a table more than a two tier cake would! Candy tables can also replace that wedding favor that most people throw away anyway{sad but true} Why not send your guests home with something they might actually enjoy?!

So I'm thinking that I need a little bit of both worlds! I don't think that I can personally ditch the wedding cake idea, but I do love the idea of a colorful candy bar! No one says that you can't have a traditional cake on one table and a candy bar as a favor on another, right?! So let me know what you think! Cast your vote :)

create your space

I've recently become obsessed with an outdoor wedding made for perfect natural light which makes for perfect pictures!! Now I know it doesn't happen as often as I would like in New Orleans, but I can only dream! So since I don't get a chance to plan many, I've created my own chance and scheduled a photo shoot in Audubon park! I am working with so many great vendors for this project: Greer G Photography, Melissa's Fine Pastries, Bee's Weddings and Events, The Bridal Boutique by MaeMe, Make Me Up!!, Hair by Ginger Dickey, and Pamela's Parasols! Sounds like a great bunch huh?! Photo's to come after June 1st :)

So when deciding on theme and decor, I thought a lot about how to create the setting with only trees! I realized that the possibilities are endless and it actually gives you a blank canvas! You get the opportunity to completely create your theme! Below are some options to turn those trees into YOUR trees:

Are you inspired to have an outdoor ceremony? If so, call me :)

bouts to boot

The ladies aren't the only ones who can use an accessory on the wedding day! I love these great boutonnieres to add a little something something to every groom/groomsman's look!! Definitely do-able for any wedding! Use the staple flower of the wedding and add a few accents like feathers, curly-q's, ribbon, weeds, lace, etc! Anything works so try thinking outside the box!
Enjoy :)

the perfect gift

For everything that your bridesmaids and groomsman go through for your special day/YEAR, its nice to give back to them as well! I'm a huge fan of giving a little something to the bridal party at every bridal shower! Its just a special way to say thanks for coming and thanks for being such a special part of the wedding- even if its just a thought!

I wanted to share some of my favorite bridal party gifts with you!
 I'll start with the bridesmaids:

1. Monogrammed oversize tote- Perfect for your bridesmaids to carry around everything they need for your big day {makeup, toothbrush, hairspray, shoes, schedule, etc}
2. Tory Burch Flip Flops- Let's be honest, who is going to wear their heels all night when they are dancing the night away. Why not give your bmaids cute flip flops that match their dresses?
3. Monogrammed Waffle Robes- These robes make for the cutest pictures while your getting  pampered! I love a white robe for the bride and the wedding color for the bmaids!

gifts for the groomsman:

1. Monogrammed Flask- All guys need a flask!
2. Fleur De Lis Cufflinks- The man's jewelry and the perfect accessory to class up the groomsman attire!
3. Insulated Cooler- Definitely useful for all those guy weekends at the camp, golf course, or beach!

I hope these gifts gave you inspiration for your bridal party! Obviously, I love monogrammable gifts- they are just so much more personal and unique :)

feathered inspiration

I have discovered my new obsession...FEATHERS!

Feathers are a huge wedding trend on the rise to add a little something different to a traditional bouquet. With our FIRST wedding coming up in two weeks, I have been getting so excited about seeing the feathers incorporated in her florals! Picture this- red roses with black feathers! AHH so gorgeous and dramatic! But since our meeting, I have been dreaming about feathers and all the different looks they can achieve. Whether they are ostrich, costume, or peacock, they all add a little flair to any bouquet!
And who doesn't love the drama?

These are other ways to incorporate feathers into your wedding, too!

Feathers are an inexpensive way to add some beauty to your table settings. You can even dye them to match your wedding colors! Tall feather arrangements add tons of drama and old hollywood glamour to any room! Make your bridesmaids dresses unique by adding a DIY feathered belt!

Will you add some feathers to your flowers? I hope so!
