saying "I DO" under the sweet southern oaks

Being from New Orleans, you come to love the uniqueness of each and every street corner! It is a truly magical place with so much character and personality! I like to mirror that uniqueness with each and every wedding! When designing a wedding, the goal is to tell the story of that couple and the love between them! When designing this styled shoot, I tried to portray the quintessential southern couple who loves vintage nostalgia, but appreciated a fresh touch of girly glamour! I wanted that couple to be connected to their southern roots and get married under a gorgeous oak covered in moss! The shoot took place at the gorgeous Audubon Park, the home of the oldest and most magnificent trees in New Orleans! And magnificent this shoot became!

I connected with the best group of people who all pooled their talents to bring this dream wedding to life! Greer of Greer G Photography truly captured the essence of my dream and gave us something to drool over forever! I am so happy to finally reveal the full spread of pictures from our southern styled shot! I hope you love them as much as we do!
What better to dress the couple in than seersucker and lace! Perlis helped us to get our groom ready for his big day! The seer sucker suit is such a staple in a Southern gentleman's closet so we thought he would have to pull it out for his gorgeous summer wedding day! There are so many AMAZING bridal styles and trends that I think a bride shouldn't have to limit herself to just one dress :) I LOVE IT when a bride wears two dresses on her wedding day, so we got two gorgeous dresses too! Our bride wore short and sweet scalloped lace dress by Romona Keveza from Wedding Belles, then when the sun started setting, she slid into a STUNNING cotton lace bridal by Blush by Jim Hjelm from The Bridal Boutique by Mae Me
I would wear both dresses on my wedding day in a heart beat :)

I thought it was important to connect the couple with their roots by using some vintage aspects as staples in their wedding decorations. Bee's Weddings and Events, a company so great at thinking outside of the box, took care of all of our floral needs {and just about everything else}! Eric placed the centerpiece flowers in his mom's depression glass- a dainty touch that nods to the past! The floral flatware from Macy's brought such great colors to the table and the ruffled edges gave the plates a really feminine feel! We pulled out the lace overlay to add that homey feeling!

I also brought grandma's buttons to use as accents and special vintage touches! These buttons are my grandmothers, and as you can tell, she spent all of her life collecting these beauties knowing that they would one day be perfect for this photo shoot! I love what Eric at Bee's did with the buttons on the bouquet and boutonniere! Probably my favorite details of the shoot :)

Melissa's Fine Pastries brought every aspect of the shoot alive in one gorgeous cake! She combined the feminine pink color with intricate lace fondant appliques to create the perfect mix of southern Belle and southern nostalgia! The vintage dusty roses and berries completed the look! The chandelier cake stand from Fabulous Wedding Cake Stands added an extra touch of glam!

I am a huge fan of Parasol's for an outdoor wedding and when Eric from Bee's told me about this way cool antique door painted with Mr. and Mrs., I knew I wanted to use it for the shoot and I knew I had to   replicate the script on two parasols for the bride and groom! I knew just who to call to make the custom sun shades for the couple... Pamela's Parasols :) They just make for the most adorable pictures, don't they!
I love this shot of the amazing combination of flowers by Bee's! Its also such a stunning view of the perfectly polished make up by Make Me Up and hair by Ginger Dickey!
We also got our bridesmaids dress from Wedding Belles {who has an amazing selection of bridesmaids dresses in every color, shape, size, and fabric}! I love the feminine chiffon and blooming peony neckline! Bee's once again created the perfect bouquet of color to accent the beautiful bridesmaid!
{Brace yourselves for more shots of this stunning Blush dress from MaeMe}
Our wedding ceremony took place under the gorgeous oak with cascading vintage mirrors, ribbons, and sheers!

One of my favorite shots of this whole styled shoot below :)

We ended the afternoon with champagne and no shoes- the way any great wedding should end!

I hope you've enjoyed gawking over the shoot as much as we enjoyed creating it! I loved every minute of bringing this vision to life, and know that if anyone out there is interested in doing a styled shoot-- I'M YOUR GIRL! So look out for many more gorgeous shoots from me in the future :)
