I am completely in love with this vintage trend for weddings! So when I got called by Magnolia Pair {a pair of completely innovative nola photographers} to help co-design a 1920's styled shoot set in Paris, I just about died with excitement! I called the best for them to all bring their talents to the table and help us bring this gorgeous shoot to life! And that they did!
Our goal was to inspire you to try something different- the kind of different that is timeless and gorgeous! So enjoy this sneak peek of our twenties affair :)

picture perfect
I've been harping to my brides that one of the most important details of the wedding is organizing a picture list of who you want in each picture, details you def want pictured, and places you want to be photographed! You can always develop this with your photographer, but it's always nice to make sure your couple's personality {and all of those amazing details you designed} come across on film!
Besides the traditional family photos that you definitely need, I wanted to share some amazing photos and details that I simply adore :)
Great first look idea! Much more anticipation!
Or if your not interested in a first look...DEF do this :)
Such a cute touch to add a little something
Great untraditional bridal party shot
Loving sparklers
Photobooth strip with rings! Super cute!
So get to listing! Type out all of those important people and details and make sure their photos get snapped! You can never go back and re-do your big day!
{sorry I don't have the names of these photographers- I've been collecting these pictures for years and don't know their sources!}

a little love and lace
What a whirlwind weekend at the Welliver Bridal Expo!! Two whole days of bridal show bliss! Meeting so many amazing young women and getting to talk weddings all day is like heaven for a wedding planner! Kinda wishing I could do that everyday...oh wait, I DO!
I designed a table centered around my website! I wanted to show my brides that you can take something {a piece like lace} and thread it through your wedding decor! And who doesn't love a ton of hydrangeas? The centerpieces showed that sometimes less can be more- that this one flower encompassed something SO GLAMOUROUS! Thanks to Eric at Bee's Florist for bringing the vision to life! I also have to thank Greer of Greer G Photography for these gorgeous pictures and Krystal at A Pinch of Lovely for the amazing invites!

mountaintop marriage
I just LOVE introducing you to some of my new favorite vendors! This next installment of VENDOR LOVIN features a photographer whose job I would love to have for a weekend {or maybe she can just find someone who will hire me and take me with them!} Claire Elyse Photography is a locally owned photog studio that specializes in destination weddings- and no, not the kind that come here to New Orleans- but the opposite kind!
Talk about DREAM JOB!
I asked Claire to tell you a little bit about why she loves what she does, then we will get to show you the goodness of Kristen and Jonathan's mountain wedding! So here goes:
"Destination wedding photography is where my passion is, so Kristen and Jonathan’s wedding was quite an opportunity for me. I love to see how my absolute love of photography and giddy enjoyment of traveling can merge. I’ve been fascinated by cameras and where they can take me since I was a little girl. Never could I have dreamed that my goals for photography and a business that strives to tell the unique love story of every bride and groom would take me as far as they have. With every wedding, it is my goal to try something new and more importantly to know my brides and what makes their future husband their other half. The most important and enjoyable aspect of my job is watching clients become friends in the months prior to and after their wedding. There are countless stories out there and I can’t wait to tell them!"

How amazing are these colors! So eye catching- just makes me smile :)
Feel free to stop and stare at this backdrop for a few. Then carry on to enjoy the rest of the beauty :)
"Kristen and Jonathan’s wedding was one of those where I found myself counting down the days ‘til show time! It may have been because the wedding took place in the mountains of North Carolina, or perhaps because the bride and groom brought all the best of Louisiana to meet those mountains. It was all that and more. The details of this wedding were stunning, and even the vendors were the perfect mix of fun-loving South Louisiana meets breath taking North Carolina mountain highs. Jonathan proposed to Kristen in Andrews, North Carolina, so it was only appropriate to pack up the dress, cake, family, and bar and make a vacation out of it. The Hawkesdene House was one of my favorite venues to work with. The owners matched elegance with comfort. From the flowers, to one of Zoe’s Bakery’s masterpieces, to Abita Blues playing the requests of the bride and groom mixed with their own style. Kristen dreamt an amazing day into reality."
Don't you just want to eat every single one of these dishes! Yummy southern food!
This cake. I die. Me gutsa mucho el pastel de ZOE'S {in Covington}
AHH now someone hire me to plan their destination wedding! I just LOVE it :)
Vendors:
Bridal Gown, Bridesmaids & MOB: Southern Bridal (Mandeville, LA)
Band: Abita Blues Band
Photographer: Claire Elyse Photography
Bakery: Zoe's
Hair: Barber's and Bombshell's
Venue: Hawkesdene House

sparkles.
Just incase you didn't get enough sparkle from all of the fireworks yesterday for the Fourth of July, I wanted to show you some classy and fabulous ways to add sparkle to your wedding- something that I think any wedding can use a touch of! No need to overwhelm your guests with rhinestones in every nook and cranny to add the extra pizazz! Just one of these details could add that wow factor and give you that gorgeous candlelight reflection on the walls and in your photographs!
A headband is such an easy way to transition from the romance of your ceremony veil to get ready to party for the wedding reception! I'm a huge fan of the quick addition to change your look in just seconds so you can head straight in to see your guests!
And who wouldn't love this full rhinestone dress for any wedding party, rehearsal dinner, or even reception dress?! There is no better time to wear rhinestones than your wedding!
I'm also loving the rhinestone monogram cake topper! Even if you're not into rhinestones, a mono topper in any other style is still a great way to personalize your wedding cake!
This brooch bouquet by Bella Blooms makes an amazing statement of vintage elegance! Daring, I know, but it could always be an option for your church rehearsal, reception, or throw bouquet! Why not wear pieces of your grandmothers on your special day?

I am OBSESSED with these J.Crew flats to change into for the reception! So gorgeous and they make a much bigger statement than flip flops :)
So who's adding a little bling to their big day?
